Activities and Organization
The institution carries out the following healthcare activities:
- Preventive health care for all population groups at the dispensary level,
- Health education for all population groups,
- Emergency medical assistance, on-call service, and ambulance transport,
- General medicine,
- Health care for children and youth,
- Women’s health care,
- Health care for patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, including X-ray diagnostics,
- Preventive and curative general and specialized dentistry with X-ray diagnostics,
- Community nursing (home health care),
- Occupational, traffic, and sports medicine,
- Physical medicine and physiotherapy,
- Psychiatry, child psychiatry, psychology, and prevention and treatment of drug addiction,
- Laboratory diagnostics,
- Health rehabilitation for children and adolescents with physical and mental developmental disorders.
The institution provides primary health care across 13 facilities, located as follows:
- Novo mesto – at six locations: Kandijska cesta 4; Home for the Elderly Šmihel; Occupational Activity Center Šmihel; Novo mesto Prison, Jerebova Street; Primary School Center; Dental Clinic Ločna.
- Šmarjeta – at two locations: Social Care Center Penzion Sreča; Home for the Elderly Trebnje – Šmarjeta Unit.
- Šentjernej – family medicine, pediatrics, youth and general dentistry, community nursing, laboratory.
- Žužemberk – family medicine, youth and general dentistry, community nursing.
- Dolenjske Toplice – youth and general dentistry.
- Škocjan – community nursing.
- Straža – general dentistry.
- Mirna Peč – family medicine.
Specialist medical services are organized at the institution’s headquarters: Kandijska cesta 4, Novo mesto.
